Fifteen minute power post

1. Jerry Falwell died. I have a feeling that right about now, he's feeling very very surprised.

2. I LOVE my new place - even if the bathroom wasn't finished yet when I moved in and I had to shower at friends' houses this weekend. It feels very me, and I had great help moving my stuff in. It feels much brighter and happier, or maybe I feel brighter and happier, but it feels like a great space for this next phase of my life.

3. I'm back in Chicago for a brief visit. It's still a great city, but California feels more like home now. This is probably a good thing.

4. I dig the Friends meeting that is now only a ten minute walk from my house. It's a great peaceful vibe, and it fits me in a way that previous church-type activities never did.

5. For the first time in a long time, or maybe ever - I feel lucky.

Oh this thrills my soul!

Enjoy an Italian Beef for me and hurry back to CA to make your new place home!

Thanks for the update lucky one!

PS - there is a wonderful book out in juvenile fiction called "The Higher Power of Lucky" that I just finished - it is wonderful, you might enjoy it. It won the Newberry Award, so others are enjoying it too.

And so glad you like your new apartment, and that it is so close to Friends.

Christy I'm delighted that you have found a haven. Happy new home!
Miz Melly

Glad things are going so well for you! Enjoy the new place.

Christy, Blessings to you in your new home and on the road (in every sense of that word)! I teach at a Friends-founded colleage (I guest that makes me a Quakapalian ;-)) and am glad you've found a Friends Meeting nearby. I personally would miss the more liturgical style of worship, but I do love the expectant silence and the waiting on the Spirit, and I figure with all the history of nasty church constraints you've endured, the freedom and egalitarianism of Friends are a wonderful gift for you.

Your statement on Falwell is the best I've read in the blogosphere so far. It says it all. Thank you.

Have fun in Chicago!

Oops, and you'd think I could spell COLLEGE!! :-b
